Searching for a Park
With our new site, we decided to go back to the drawing board and try to determine what campers wanted when looking for a park. Our old site based everything off of two "major cities" and the parks actual city. We figured that anyone that was looking for a park would find what they needed through one of those options. We found that while that was a good way of doing it, there could be a better way. What we have done in our new site is dynamically created those search results based on what city you choose.
But what does that mean? Well it means that if you do a search for Austin you will get a list of parks in distance order from the city center of Austin. We feel this is a much better way to search for parks because it gives the camper are real understand of where that park is in relation to other parks or other attractions in the area. In comparison the previous version of the TexasCampgrounds.com, doing that same should would only give you parks that had listed Austin as a major city, or they were actually located in Austin. You can see where this becomes a more beneficial search for not only the campers but the parks as well. Parks are able to be listed on an almost unlimited number of pages, which gives them the possibility of being seen from anywhere.
